As you may notice from these documents and my clients’ testimonials, my process is highly inquisitive and collaborative. Regardless of whether you are:
looking for a new job in your established field of expertise,
vying for an executive-level promotion at a company you’ve been with for years, or
trying to get your foot in the door somewhere via an entry-level position,
a professionally tailored résumé or curriculum vitae (CV) will help you stand out among applicants. If you are applying broadly to multiple types of jobs at once, or to similar jobs across various industries, you may even need multiple versions that are each aligned to a different purpose.
My process always begins with a free consultation to discuss options and determine the scope of work. If you have a detailed draft ready and hope to hand it off for straightforward text editing, I can do that. I make you shine even brighter, though, with my Career Profile service. This is a more comprehensive process that includes:
Interviewing you about your personal constellation of work and volunteer experiences, key achievements and awards, professional strengths and challenges, core values, and future goals
Reviewing job descriptions and/or postings that appeal to you and analyzing them for shared themes and key terms to reflect back in your final documents
Researching and seeking clarification about any unfamiliar subjects as needed to ensure word choice is both technically accurate and sounds natural to even an expert ear
Discussing your formatting preferences and their suitability for your chosen field
Crafting a bespoke résumé or CV that authentically and professionally reflects the person your experiences have led you to become
Identifying areas where adding statistics could enhance your narrative, querying you for more information, and incorporating additional details provided
Reviewing the final document together and further revising it as needed until you’re 100% satisfied with it
While I can’t guarantee that someone will hire you, of course, I am proud to say my work has helped past clients succeed in securing the job offers and acceptance letters of their dreams. This is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do!
